Ridgecrest LIFE is a newsletter designed to help the residents of the Ridgecrest Condominiums Community stay connected and informed. This community-focused publication provides updates, news, and resources specifically for those living in the Ridgecrest condos Redding, CA, to foster a stronger sense of community among the residents.
June has arrived at Ridgecrest, and with it comes longer days, warmer evenings, and that familiar Redding sunshine we all know so well.
After the spring bloom, our community begins its steady shift into summer. The grass dries out, the pavement heats up, and many of our seasonal visitors—bugs, weeds, snakes, and wildlife—remain active around the property.
This is a beautiful time of year at Ridgecrest, but it is also a good time for a few reminders to help keep our homes, pets, and neighbors safe and comfortable.
As temperatures rise, please be especially mindful when walking pets or spending time outside. Driveways, sidewalks, and paved areas can become very hot during the day and may be uncomfortable or even unsafe for pets’ paws.
Early morning and evening walks are often best, but those are also the times when coyotes and other wildlife may be more active. Please keep small pets close, use leashes, and avoid leaving pet food, water bowls, or trash outside where they may attract animals.
Rattlesnakes may also continue to be active during June, especially near shaded areas, rocks, garages, bushes, patios, and storage spaces. Please look carefully before reaching into corners, moving boxes, stepping near landscaping, or opening garage areas that have been quiet for a while. If you see a rattlesnake, do not approach it or try to move it yourself. Keep children and pets away and contact the property manager for assistance or direction.
June also marks the beginning of serious fire-awareness season in Redding. Dry leaves, weeds, pine needles, cardboard, and other debris can become a hazard quickly in hot, dry weather. Residents are encouraged to keep patios, entryways, and immediate areas neat and free of unnecessary clutter. Please do not store flammable materials near buildings, garages, fences, or common areas. If you notice overgrown weeds, dry brush, or other fire-related concerns around the property, please report them to management so they can be addressed.
With warmer weather, ants, spiders, wasps, and other insects may also become more noticeable. Keeping food sealed, wiping up spills, taking trash out regularly, and sweeping away webs or nests can help reduce pest activity around your home. Please check doors, windows, garage areas, and patio spaces for small gaps where insects may enter. Store-bought pest treatments can help with minor problems, but always follow directions carefully and keep chemicals away from children and pets.
This is also a good time to be thoughtful about water use and outdoor areas. If you see broken sprinklers, leaking irrigation, standing water, or unusually wet spots, please let management know. Standing water can attract insects, and leaks can create unnecessary waste, especially as we move into the hotter part of the year.
Summer at Ridgecrest is something to enjoy. The evenings are warm, the trees provide welcome shade, and our community continues to be a peaceful place to call home. A little extra caution goes a long way this time of year. Please stay alert, look out for your neighbors, and contact the property manager if you see something that needs attention.
Let’s continue working together to keep Ridgecrest safe, clean, and comfortable as we head into another Redding summer.
If you observe issues of concern, please report them to the property manager by calling (530) 241-3500 x 501, so these incidents can be addressed appropriately. All reports will be handled confidentially and in accordance with HOA procedures.

4th of July Planning
Hard to believe but next month will bring the 4th of July - and not just any 4th of July, this year will mark the 250th Birthday of our great country! As we prepare for the upcoming 4th of July holiday, please remember that access to the association will be limited due to the fireworks event and increased traffic.
As those of you who have lved here for a while know, this is a big event for the community. To help ensure a smooth experience for everyone, the property managers have recently sent out communications asking that residents verify all tenant information is current in our system. IMPORTANT: Any tenants not listed or updated in advance may unfortunately be denied entry during this time.
If you need to update tenant information contact the property manager Request to fill out and submit a contact Information form.

Yes, we see the water leaks
As we move into a drier time of the year, we have noticed the water leaks in the irrigation systems. We are as concerned with water conservation and the accompanying savings, as you are. The Board has discussed the topic at recent meetings, and we have had meetings with the Property Manager and the owner of the landscapng company we contract with, to set a plan to address the issue.
Over the coming weeks, the landscaper will work to carefully adjust the timing on the water valves, so as not to over-saturate any irrrigated areas. We are also working together to identify any leaks in the system and to identify those, so repairs can be scheduled. Finally, we evaluated a couple valves which need new solenoids and/or diaphragms in order to turn off reliably after each water cycle.
We invite you to report any leaks or overy wet reas you see to the property manager to help us identify areas needing attention.

Construction/Renovation continues
Our hard working building contractors continue to provide construction and building repair services. They will continue to work through the summer, following the plan put in place by the Board.
Thank you for your patience with the noise and mess as they work to make sure our buildings are in great shape, to maximize the appearance and property values for all residents and owners.

We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for all residents.
Thank you, and we wish you a safe and happy Independence Day!
Welcome to summer 2026, Ridgecrest residents!
For those who have asked about the trees in the median at the north entrance to the property, I hope you have noticed that several of them have been thinned and the dead branches have been removed. They look a lot better!
We have identified several areas around the property which will receive additional bark mulch over the coming weeks.
We appreciate the suggestions we have received and the notes of appreciation for the work which has been completed. If anybody living here is interested, we can use more help on the committee to assess needs and take findings to the board, to continue to improve our landscaping. I can especially use any volunteers who can help keep an eye on the landscaping in Phase Two (the North End of the development), as well as the 8-plex areas (along Hilltop Drive), and report needs/concerns to me.
Thanks!
-Laura

June Community Update
Hello Ridgecrest Residents,
June is here, and with it comes the beginning of the true summer season in Redding. As the days grow longer and temperatures continue to climb, we want to share a few timely reminders to help everyone enjoy a safe, comfortable, and pleasant month at Ridgecrest.
First, this is an excellent time for owners to make sure their HVAC systems are ready for the summer heat. If you have not already done so, please consider scheduling a check of your air conditioning unit to confirm it is operating properly and efficiently. A simple seasonal inspection can help prevent breakdowns during the hottest part of the year and may also improve performance and energy use. If your unit has not been serviced recently, now is the time.
We are also happy to remind residents that the Ridgecrest pools are available for resident use and are a wonderful way to cool off during the warmer months. We encourage everyone to enjoy the pool areas responsibly and courteously. Please be mindful of posted rules, supervise children carefully, and help keep the pool areas clean and welcoming for all.
As always, summer also brings increased heat, dry conditions, and more outdoor activity throughout the community. Please continue to watch for seasonal safety concerns, including hot pavement for pets, dry landscaping conditions, and the need to stay hydrated when outdoors.
Thank you for helping make Ridgecrest such a wonderful place to call home. Wishing everyone a safe and enjoyable June.
